Latest Updates from Our Project:

Production Progress and Surveys
8 days ago – Thu, Oct 22, 2026 at 10:05:05 AM

Hey, it's Wes!

Thanks to everyone who jumped on the poll on the last update. Overwhelmingly there was no problem with changing to Pledge Manager, but some of you do have issue with it.

So on that note, I have decided to use BackerKit as planned and have completed building the surveys and pre-order store. It will be ready to smoke test about this time next week. I am waiting to start this process as Kickstarter is still processing the final pledges and it will likely be another week before they transfer any of the funds. So by end of next week the initial smoke test should go out and the rest of the surveys shortly after when I make sure everything is working properly.

I'm trying to knock out fulfillment on this campaign as fast as I possibly can, so when the surveys do arrive please fill them out and get them back to me so I can get some final counts in. I need final counts to go into production on T-shirts, Artist Edition, and Holofoils and the sooner it is done I can place those orders and get them turned in to be made.

Also, I have sent issue 7 to the printer and have just approved the proof from them, so that process is well underway. The bulk of the pledges are issue 7 and previous issues/books, so when these arrive I should be able to start packing and shipping to you all.

That's what I got. Survey smoke test out next week either Thursday or Friday once Kickstarter has finalized everything on their end for me.

Night Wolf #1-12: Urban Fantasy Werewolf Coming-of-Age Drama

My friend Rob Multari is back! He just launched Night Wolf issue 12 yesterday! Rob and I started our Kickstarter journey at the same time and he's been crushing it on Night Wolf!

AER HEAD 1-3 Send Surfers to Mars! Surfer Hero Sci-fi/Comedy

Mindy is closing her campaign in a few hours and is still looking to get some extra support to reach her goal. Check it out!

This last Kickstarter I faced several new challenges that certainly hindered my making people aware that I had a Kickstarter running.

One way is that I discovered Facebook has killed all organic traffic leading away from Facebook. Now they demand creators pay $15 for the privilege of posting 2 links a month for any professional page to share their content. Something I believe most indie creators can't or won't be able to do.

The creator economy continues to expand, and I think this is a good thing for consumers to get new ideas into the world instead of constantly being fed rehashed and half baked ideas. This means it's more important than ever to help creators spread the word about the work you enjoy. If you like something, let the world know. This really helps, more than you think. Tell people you like something, share what you love instead and help creators find new eyes for their creations.

Have a great weekend.

Success! Thank you! I have a question for you

Heading into the last day of the campaign!
16 days ago – Wed, Oct 14, 2026 at 02:20:58 PM

Hey backers, thanks so much for joining this Kickstarter campaign. There is a whole bunch of cool comics currently live on Kickstarter, and I greatly appreciate you choosing to pledge your hard earned money to Savage Sasquanaut.

We are closing in on the final 24 hours of the campaign and we're more than 90% of the goal. We can do this! We can hit the goal but I need your help one last time.

Let people know about this comic. If you read the earlier issues and enjoyed it, tell people that you enjoyed it. Point them to this campaign and help get it in front of as many people as possible. I've spoken to many folks either via email, at the con, or in messages and I keep hearing people say they "had no idea that my campaign was live."

Somehow I'm failing to get my social media posts, past Kickstarter updates, newsletters and emails through to folks. This is, I suspect, a large part of why this campaign is struggling more than most of my previous Kickstarters.

Please help put this out there and help us reach the goal before time runs out. I appreciate everything you have done so far and all I can do is ask to share the campaign.

I mentioned other great Kickstarter campaigns are live, here a few from some of my friends that you should also check out.

DAISY CASSIDY Issues 4 and 5!

This is the conclusion of an all-ages sci-fi comic book that just proves that babysitting is never easy, but galactic kidnappers make things worse!

TATSUMI: The Serpent Mistress #1-4

A Swashbuckling Adventure continuing the swashbuckling / high seas / fantasy comic series about a lone surviving martial arts heroine (Tatsumi) who mysteriously gets mixed up with a band of treasure seeking pirates.

MOB RULES: 51 Lessons from the Dust Bunny Mafia

MOB RULES is a single-panel cartoon series that turns familiar mobster wisdom into a punchline.

The easiest way to describe Dust Bunny Mafia is:

Looney Tunes meets The Godfather.

Final week of the campaign! Big Texas Comicon
22 days ago – Thu, Oct 08, 2026 at 05:18:10 AM

Hey backers, just popping in to say thanks again for your support of this Kickstarter. I know there are lots of really great projects running and supporting this campaign is a choice and I don't take that for granted.

I'm happy to say that I have completed all the work on issue 7 and it is currently being reviewed by my editorial team to make sure I fix any errors that I may have missed. So I'll be ready to send the book to the printer as soon as the campaign successfully ends.

We are entering the final week of the campaign and there is still some ground to cover to reach the funding goal. If you are willing, please share this link on your social media and to comic loving friends to help us hit that goal.

This weekend I will be a guest at BIG TEXAS COMICON along with Kickstarter Exclusive Cover Artist Roberto Rivera Padró! While there I will be spreading the word about Savage Sasquanaut and trying to drum up some more support. If you are at the show this weekend, please come by the booth and say "hi!"

Thanks for your time and support, let's make this last week of the campaign unforgettable.

For your consideration...

As I stated there are a bunch of cool campaigns running on Kickstarter now and now is my chance to spotlight some of them.

DEADCRUMB

I'm a long time fan of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips incredible run of original comics. Deadcrumb looks to me to be in the same spirit as those fantastic comics and is definitely worth a look. Check it out!

Deadcrumb has already passed it's goal, jump on board and help them reach some stretch goals!

THE MAFIA VS. THE KLAN

John Wick meets The Godfather. Violent 120-page historical noir graphic novel following a father’s quest for revenge against the Klan. Check out one of the pages of art, and if you go to the Kickstarter page you can read the first 22 pages for free!

And it's passed its goal, so it's going to happen and you can jump on board now.

Apotheosis: Collapsing Worlds #2 | Sci-fi Mystery Comic

My longtime friend, and issue 4 Sasquanaut cover artist, Jordan Gunderson just launched his newest issue for his creator-owned series. It's a beautiful book. You should head over to the campaign and check it out.

Extra Pages Stretch Goal
about 1 month ago – Wed, Sep 23, 2026 at 09:50:03 AM

Hey backers, I'm so glad you are a part of this campaign. Thank you for your support and helping spread the adventures of Bigfoot in space across social media.

Announcing the $8,000 stretch goal!

I've heard back from my printer and have made plans to bring the extra pages to the book as part of a stretch goal as mentioned in the previous update. These pages will feature new sketches and designs for characters and creatures featured in Sasquanaut issue 8, and possibly some other odds and ends thrown in for fun.

I'm sure you are all aware how this works, but just in case, to get the extra pages included in the book, the funding raised on Kickstarter must reach or pass $8,000.

The best part of this kind of stretch goal is that every backer will benefit. Whether you pledge for a digital only reward, or for a physical reward, you can get the extra pages in your issue 7.

What can you do to help make this happen?

You've already pledges so that's enough!

But, you can help share the campaign on social media to help raise awareness and draw more backers. Especially if you've read and enjoyed Sasquanaut in the past, telling your friends is a huge help.

You can also browse the numerous add-ons that are available and add an extra item to your order to help push us closer to the goal. Digital backers can add previous issues, or add the long lost Sasquanaut story that was originally published, or bump to the digital deluxe tiers for more goodies.

Thanks!!

Now to help raise awareness of other campaigns currently running on Kickstarter.
